Diamond Earns NRA and Other Key Endorsements

ANNVILLE, 10/13/16 – State Representative Russ Diamond (R-102) has been endorsed by the National Rifle Association's Political Victory Fund, the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation, the National Federation of Independent Business, and several other key organizations for re-election to the Pennsylvania General Assembly.

"I'm proud of my record in Harrisburg supporting the pro-gun, pro-life, and free market policies that represent core Lebanon County values," said Diamond. "These organizations closely follow bills and action in the House of Representatives, survey the candidates, and offer their endorsements accordingly."

In its endorsement letter, the Pennsylvania Pro‐Life Federation thanked Diamond for his "commitment to helping to restore protection for human life." The freshman legislator is a member of the General Assembly's Pro‐Life Caucus, and has co‐sponsored several bills to protect the unborn.

Pennsylvania Associated Builders & Contractors, Humane PA, and the PA Farm Bureau's FARMER (Famers Allied for Responsive More Effective Representation) have also offered their support for the Annville businessman's retention as the 102nd District's Representative in the General Assembly.

"I've been dedicated to supporting family farms as a member of the House Agriculture & Rural Affairs Committee," added Diamond. "The passage of my bill to reintroduce industrial hemp as a cash crop in Pennsylvania will eventually lead to a billion-dollar industry that will benefit farmers, manufacturers, consumers, and the environment."

Campaign for Compassion, a patient advocacy group, added its endorsement for Diamond's re-election based on his efforts to improve the House rewrite of Senate Bill 3, which launched the state's medical cannabis program. Diamond was the only member of the House to have two substantive amendments added to the bill and was responsible for making Pennsylvania the first state in the nation to include autism as a qualifying medical condition.

The general election will be held on November 8. The 102nd District includes Annville, Bethel, Cold Spring, Heidelberg, Jackson, Millcreek, North Lebanon, South Lebanon, Swatara, Union and West Lebanon townships and the boroughs of Cleona, Jonestown, Myerstown and Richland.
