ANNVILLE, 01/07/16 - Russ Diamond, in a video posted at www.russdiamond.vote, announced today he would seek re-election as State Representative for the 102nd legislative district.
Diamond, the Republican representative from Annville, said the following in the video:
"Before I was elected to office, I ran a business for 22 years, worked in manufacturing for 7 years, and spent a couple years as an over-the-road trucker. I know what's it's like to work hard to earn a living.
"When you put your faith in me in 2014, I knew I wanted to go to Harrisburg to represent the interests of hard working men and women. What I didn't know, however, is how relentless our new Governor would be in his attempts to reach deeper into your pockets to benefit special interests and Harrisburg insiders.
"Throughout those endless attacks from the left, I've stood up for you at every turn, fighting against higher taxes and bigger government. I've also taken every opportunity to fight for Republican values and individual liberty.
"I'd like to keep fighting for you. That's why I'm seeking re-election as Representative in the General Assembly for the 102nd District. The Republican primary election is on April 26th this year. I'm asking you for your vote – and for your support until then – so I can continue to fight for what's right for you and your family."
Diamond is a lifelong resident of the 102nd District, which includes Annville, Bethel, Cold Spring, Heidelberg, Jackson, Millcreek, North Lebanon, South Lebanon, Swatara, Union and West Lebanon townships and the boroughs of Cleona, Jonestown, Myerstown and Richland.
