County Republicans Endorse Diamond

The Lebanon County Republican Committee voted to endorse the re-election of State Representative Russ Diamond (R-102) at a meeting held at the Lincoln Republican Club auditorium on Thursday night. Diamond won the vote by a 31-1 margin among Committee members in attendance from the 102nd District.
"I'm both humbled and honored to receive the support of my fellow elected Republicans on the committee," Diamond said. "These are the people who represent Republican voters in every precinct and community in my legislative district, and their support indicates they overwhelmingly approve of the job I'm doing in the state capitol."
Thursday's formal endorsement vote followed two weeks of more informal local district meetings of the LCRC, where candidates offered five minute presentations and were subject to questions from Committee members. Those districts then each conducted straw polls, where Diamond won all but one vote in a single district.
"Representative Diamond has done a great job in Harrisburg, and the committee's endorsement is well-deserved," added LCRC Chairman Bill Bova. "We will now enthusiastically put the resources and manpower of the committee to work to help secure his victory in the Republican primary on April 23rd, and in November's general election."
The Lebanon County Republican Committee is comprised of three registered Republicans from every voting precinct in the county. Committee members are elected by Republican voters in their respective precincts and serve four-year terms.
"For the last twenty years, both before I was first elected and after, Republicans in Lebanon County have appreciated that I speak the truth no matter how uncomfortable it may be. I believe this endorsement is a testament to how much the truth is appreciated in our county, and I will continue to honor my commitment to it," Diamond concluded.
